Charter Service and Celebration

Charter Service and Celebration

by Leo Schuster

This past Sunday night marked a milestone for City Church. We officially graduated from being a church plant to being a chartered church with our own lay leaders ordained and installed into offices of service.

What an honor for me personally to be installed, together with my long-time friend and colleague, Linc Ashby, as pastors of City Church. And it was a deeply moving experience to witness those in our body who have been called, trained, and examined, to be set apart for leadership as elders and deacons.

So many of you have sacrificed so much over the last three years to realize this moment--thank you! I am in awe of your investment in what Jesus is doing among us.

Not only did Sunday night represent the culmination of the church-planting process, it also signaled the turning of the page. With our leadership teams on board, we are even better positioned to realize the mission our Lord has entrusted to us to renew Houston by bringing the beauty of Christ into the broken places of this city we love. I could not be more excited about what lies ahead.
