City Groups officially re-launch the week of January 6th. You can read details about each of our City Groups here. I also encourage you to check our church calendar regularly as these details occasionally change (search by city group name).
Most importantly though, if you aren’t plugged in, please consider getting plugged into a City Group at City Church. Consider these words from Curt Thompson in his book, Anatomy of the Soul:
“It is only when we are known that we are positioned to be conduits of love… love transforms our minds, makes forgiveness possible, and weaves a community of disparate people into the tapestry of God’s family.”
This semester we will be looking at the story of Joseph found in Genesis 37-50. I will record a talk for each lesson with the first being my sermon from Dec. 30th called “Who Put You in Charge?” on the opening scene of Joseph’s story found in Genesis 37:1-11. Leaders and hosts will also receive a one page document each week with a summary of the passage and discussion questions to guide your time when City Groups meet.
We will continue our 4th Sunday Meals ministry each month which has been warmly received. Each month two City Groups will continue to be paired together to enjoy a meal hosted by someone at City Church in their home. All these details will be communicated accordingly along the way.
Should you have any ideas as to how we might care for each other and our city more effectively in the spirit of Christ please feel free to call, text or email me. I’d love to get together, get to know you better and improve upon our desire to form connectional communities together at City Church.
